I want to write everything in 140 characters or less. It’s awful. And then, when I finally do write something that’s a bit longer, it’s entirely too long. I need to find a happy medium. I think this is the problem with social media in general, though. People have become so accustomed to: 1) only reading things they WANT to read; 2) only reading things that take under a minute to read; and 3) only reading things that appeal to their asinine goddamn sensibilities that they become complacent in their ignorance. Twitter and Facebook and online shopping and text messaging have inflamed American laziness so much it’s disgusting. These are tools, they aren’t experiences. An experience would be going out to the park on a nice day, going to a local pub in a snow storm, walking your dog in the rain. All those things are experiential. Going out with your friends and being on your phone the whole time isn’t. So get up and get out and live and stop being so concerned about who has the nicest outfit of the day on Instagram or what love advice Frank Ocean’s parody twitter has to offer this half hour.
